Specialist in Dental Implantology
Dr Franks graduated in Dentistry from University College Hospital London in 1990 (GDC number: 66155) and has practiced as a dentist in the UK and abroad. Stephen has received extensive implant training including a year long certificate course under the International Team for Implantology, a Masters Degree in Dental Implantology at Bristol University and advanced training in guided bone regeneration under Prof. Danny Buser, the world leader in this field, at the University of Bern.
Stephen enjoys teaching. He used to be a restorative clinical teacher at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental School and a clinical teacher for the MSc Programme in Dental Implantology at The University of Central Lancashire. He was recently appointed as an approved training mentor by Straumann

Stephen excels at complex treatment planning, rebuilding dentitions at an advanced stage of disrepair. He spent eight years at a leading specialist dental centre, looking after patients referred for their complex and challenging dental treatments before focusing his clinical practice on the field of dental implantology, attending several practices as an implantologist.
Stephen has a professional, patient and caring manner and is well liked by both his patients and his colleagues.
All of his treatment protocols are evidence based, following the recommendations and philosophy of the International Team for Implantology. Stephen audits all of his surgical cases and achieves very high success rates.
